On a long drive from the mountains to the megacity of Chiang Mai, Captain Phasut’s auto turns over in an accident that kills him and his woman Namping. Their six- time-old son Tawan was fortunate not to be travelling with them that day.
Namping’s aged family and proprietor of a coffee estate, Khunkhao, is rocked by the news. He is quick to take care of the burial arrangements. There, Thofah — Phasut’s youngish family — comes to take Tawan to Bangkok on behalf of his forefather, Athit. Khunkhao’s not ready to let Tawan go live with a forefather and aunt who he is noway met, however. Thofah will do whatever it takes to complete her task.
